CMR updates the flat roof on the Clermont Performing Arts and Recreation Center

New Flat Roof for the Clermont Performing Arts Center

One of the most rewarding aspects of our business is knowing that the roofs we install benefit the communities where we live and work. Our recent flat roofing project for the Clermont Performing Arts and Recreation Center exemplifies the rewarding nature of our work, as it directly contributes to the betterment of one of the communities we serve.

The Clermont Performing Arts And Recreation Center:

As many of its residents will tell you, the city of Clermont, Florida, is a terrific place to live. At the heart of this vibrant city lies the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center, which aims to unite the community and fosters education, entertainment, and wellness for all who take part in its offerings.

The Clermont Arts and Recreation Center was originally built in 1999 and houses two theatres, a community garden, a gymnasium, and a pool. The 1,000-seat Mainstage Theatre hosts community performances as well as some of the biggest acts in entertainment, such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rod Stewart, Chicago, The Carpenters, Ali Wong, and Jo Koy. The smaller Black Box Theatre provides a more intimate setting that is terrific for hosting dance performances and comedy shows.

CMR Updates A Community Landmark

The Clermont Performing Arts Center features multiple flat roofs, each positioned at different heights, that span the entire expanse of the structure. Like most “flat roofs,” the roofs on the Clermont Performing Arts Center are not completely flat. Instead, these roofs are better described as low-slope roofs because they typically have at least ¼ inch of slope per foot.

With advice from CMR, the Clermont Performing Arts Center decided to opt for a Carlisle Sure Weld TPO membrane roofing system. Membrane roofs are a terrific choice for property owners/managers in areas with unpredictable weather. The membrane roof’s primary purpose is to keep water out of the structure, but it can also reflect intense UV rays and reduce heat inside the building.

TPO is a type of thermoplastic that is both durable and long-lasting. When installed correctly, TPO flat roofs exhibit excellent performance for up to 30 years. They are resistant to puncturing, tearing, bacterial growth, and dirt accumulation. They are also environmentally friendly, as TPO roofs can be recycled once they reach the end of their life span.

When The Clermont Performing Arts Center needed a new roof, they called on the roofing experts at CMR. CMR is a local, family-run company and the largest roofing company in Florida, which makes us the perfect partner to handle large roofing projects like the Clermont Performing Arts Center.
