The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino:
Our team recently finished an ambitious commercial roofing project at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Beau Rivage was originally constructed in 1999 and underwent a $550 million renovation in 2022. CMR was enlisted during the renovation process to fix the existing roof and implement enhancements, guaranteeing the Resort’s durability in the years ahead.
The Beau Rivage Resort is a spectacular structure that sits just feet from the Gulf of Mexico. Towering over the Mississippi landscape, it holds the title of the tallest building in the state, solidifying its status as a prominent landmark of the Southeastern United States. The Resort is one of the most popular destinations on the Gulf Coast, attracting over 3 million visitors annually. And both Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure have ranked the Resort and Spa among the best in the country.
Roofing Project Challenges
The Beau Rivage commercial roofing project presented several unique challenges. To start with, the Resort is quite large and spread out. The main building is 32 stories tall, and the Resort occupies 3.2 million square feet. With its 1,740 rooms, 11 restaurants, five lounges, theatre, retail venue, and convention center, the Beau Rivage has over a quarter mile of roof from one end of the structure to the other.
Because the Beau Rivage is situated between the coast and a main road, there is very little space available for staging machinery and other roofing-related equipment. As a result, the roofing tear-off and installation process had to be completed with manpower alone.
Roofing Project Details
The project began with a roof tear-off. Our team then identified and repaired any remaining sections of the roof that had sustained damage. Once the roof was repaired, we installed a vapor barrier, High Density Iso board, and an 80 mil FleeceBack TPO membrane. The roof was completed using an FA Mat board.
