Making the decision to repair or replace your roof is the first step. The next step is choosing the style and materials to be used. Over 50% of homeowners don't know what color roof they have, and even less know what type?  We use a variety of roofing materials manufactured by the most reputable names in the industry. A consultation with our roofing professionals can help you decide which materials are best suited to achieving the results you want for your home.

Types of Materials:

Composition Shingles:

Composition aka asphalt shingles feature a flat or dimensional appearance. A wide range of colors and shapes can match the style of any home exterior.  These roofs are usually warrantied for 25, 30, or 40 years.  Premium asphalt roofs with a 50+ year warranty are also available.

Wood Shakes and Shingles:

Cedar shakes and shingles are built to withstand the elements and will enhance the appearance of your home or building. Fire treated shakes and shingles provide excellent fire protection and meet the rigorous testing standards for Class "A, B or C" fire resistance and weathering as set by the Uniform Building Code and National Fire Protection Association. Warranties range from 25 to 50 years.

Metal:

Metal roofing is becoming very popular.  It can look like regular "barn style" metal panels or can be coated with granules, otherwise known as stone coated steel.  Metal roofs come in all different colors and styles that assimilate the look of tile, wood, and composition shingles, and can last up to 50 years.

Tile:

With its great variety of colors, styles and finishes, a tile roof can enhance the architecture of most any home or building. Tile protects your home from fire, high winds and blistering heat, and is environmentally friendly. Tile is available in standard and lite weight with a 50-year transferable warranty.

Slate:

Slate is a natural material formed during the geologic time period known as the Early Paleozoic era, some 435 to 570 million years ago. As such, the vast majority of slate shingles present on our roofs today, and which continue to be quarried, originated some half-billion years before humans roamed the earth.

The color of slate is determined by its chemical and mineralogical composition. Since these factors differ in various localities, it is possible to obtain roofing slates in a variety of colors and shades. Upon exposure to the weather, all slate is changed slightly in color. The extent of this color change varies with different slate beds, being barely perceptible in certain slates. Those slates in which the color changes but slightly are classed as "permanent" or "unfading." Those in which the color change is more marked and varied are known as "semi-weathering" and "weathering" slates.

North American slate deposits currently producing roofing slate are found in

  • Vermont
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia
  • Quebec, Canada
  • Newfoundland, Canada
